Meet the Team

Sam Zia is the Founder and CEO of Travel Smarter Consulting, a boutique travel consulting company based in Washington, DC.

Following years of research experience in the travel and credit card sector, he founded TSC in 2020 with the goal of streamlining the travel process for businesses and individuals. He has led TSC through some of its most challenging and rewarding chapters, including spearheading the evacuation of dozens of at-risk personnel from Afghanistan in the wake of the US withdrawal in 2021 (in partnership with a number of local and international NGOs). 

Sam handles TSC’s proprietary data about the travel industry. A native of London, England and Washington, DC, he attended high school in the latter city and graduated from Jesus College, Oxford with a degree in Modern History & Politics. 

Sophia Lee is a Partner at Travel Smarter Consulting. She has extensive consulting experience, having led high-impact with clients including World Vision and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, synthesising market research and data analysis for over 140 countries. 

Sophia helps lead TSC’s client outreach. A native of Kuala Lumpur, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
